I am officially less than 48 hours away from getting on a plane and starting my trek back to the States. This summer was amazing and I am so thankful for the opportunities that I have been presented through this trip. I left Italy last week and have joined with all twelve other Ten2 teams in Drama, Greece for a week of debriefing our summers together and to continue deepening our relationship with the Lord. It has been amazing to hear all the different stories of God working throughout Europe and how He was with all the times through whatever hard times they faced. Along with our debriefing, and hearing GEM staff speak on different topics for this next transition, we have been able to see parts of Paul's missionary journeys from Acts. We visited the ruins of Philippi and the (supposed) location of Lydia's baptism from Acts 16 and Thessaloniki from Acts 17. Seeing parts of the Bible come to life on this trip between these sights and Rome, was something I hadn't fully expected to happen on this trip but am so glad that I could.
I spent the summer seeing what it was like to live on mission in daily life with four different families in Italy who were great examples of being able to use their unique gifts and talents to share God in different ways in the same geographical area. I was challenged, stretched, grown, and learned so much this summer. I am so thankful for each person I have worked alongside and learned from these past two and a half months. A lot happened throughout the summer, and it was clear that God was directing every step from before I even officially applied to now in debrief week. I can't wait to share more stories of how God worked in Italy and in my own life this summer with you all when I get back!
I will miss all of the missionaries that we were able to serve, spend time with, and build relationships with. It was incredible to see the passion they all have for sharing the Truth with the people in Italy and how they seek to serve God in everything they do. I learned so much from being with them and couldn't have asked for a better team and support group for the two months of being in Italy. I know that God is going to continue to work in Italy and grow His kingdom from the seeds that are being planted daily in Rome and Frascati and I can't wait to see it!
